Easter Mini Sessions

Preparing for the session

Prepare your photographer by answering their questionnaire and providing them with some insight into each member of your portrait party, this will make it possible for your photographer to get to know everyone and capture their attention which leads to them capturing the moment so that you can put it on the wall.

Prepare your portrait party by planning outfits, if you don't feel confident in your ability to coordinate outfits, ask your photographer for some advice, they want nothing more than to succeed for you and will gladly help you coordinate attire for the mini session.  Or if you don't want to ask your photographer, you can check out my Pinterest board of outfit coordination.  Remember, you want to coordinate, not match.

Finally prepare everyone to focus on the photographer, children will need to be informed that they are going to a photo session and will need to follow instructions and sit still and pose for a little bit.  We are not above bribery, offer children a special trip after the session, take them for ice cream or another treat, let them know that it will be their reward after the session is over if they can follow the instructions of the photographer, let the photographer know so that they can reference the special trip for a treat to get the children to focus and interact with the photographer.  I create goodie bags for children attending a mini session that is a reward for a job well done, like I said, I am not above bribery.

During the session

You will be expected to arrive at the session on time or 5 minutes early, mini sessions are designed to move at a fast pace so your photographer is counting on you to be punctual so that they can complete your session on time.  You wouldn't want to have your session delayed because someone before you showed up late.  If you arrive early and another family is still completing their session, please wait in your car or a distance from the photo shoot area so that you do not distract the family mid session.

The Photographer will pose your family in 1-3 different poses, the number of poses is dependent on the level of cooperation from those in the party, if you have very young children, it may be difficult to get more than 1 pose in 15 minutes, but I will always do my best to give you as many poses as I can squeeze into your 15 minutes, again, bribery is not beneath me...

At the end of your session, your photographer will provide you with the details of your session as well as remind you of the expected turn around time.  The details will usually be information for your gallery that will be available online after the turn around time.  My current turn around time is 2 weeks but I will always do my best to get your finished gallery to you sooner than the expected date, sometimes, I will drop a few preview portraits into the gallery as I am working on your portraits so you may find a pleasant surprise along the way!

After the session

Once your gallery is complete, you will be able to review and select your favorite portraits from the session, you will be able to select a specified number of photos based on the session which you purchased, I include 5 retouched portraits with the session fee.

After your session, your photographer will select the best portraits from the mini session and they will be available to download from your gallery.  If you have purchased a mini session with a review, then you get to pick your favorites to ensure that the portraits included in your mini session fee are the ones that you absolutely love.  It's ok if you love more than 5, you can purchase additional retouched portraits for an additional fee through your gallery.

Finally, you have received access to your gallery and all the beautiful portraits from the day, share your gallery with your family, they can purchase prints of your portraits to hang in their own home and if you loved your experience, let us know, I am a sucker for a good review, testimonial, or referral so there is an added bonus for you, I did say I am not above bribery...
