When you choose to do your portraits with me, I am going to take my time to get to know you like a new friend so that when we get together for your creative session, I am prepared to capture the portraits that you are looking for!  Our Creative Journey consists of 10 Steps in 3 Phases.

Each Step is detailed below so that you don't have to guess or wonder about any part of the process!

Planning Session:

When you call me the first thing we will schedule is a Planning Session, this is where we will sit down and discuss your goals for the Session, your goals consist of what you want to do with the final portraits, do you want to hang them on the wall or fill an heirloom album?  Maybe you want to create gifts for family around the holidays or just send out an annual holiday card to all your friends and relatives.  Knowing how you plan to use the portraits helps me ensure that we capture memories that are ready for their purpose!  I will also ask a lot of questions during this session to get to know you and your family so that I know what to say or use to elicit the response necessary for the perfect portrait!

We will also decide on the location for the Creative Session during this time.

Session Prep:

After our Planning Session, I will create a mood board (on Pinterest) with examples of portraits similar to what you are looking for so that we can draw inspiration and share ideas.  We will finalize outfits, and hair and make up suggestions during this period of time as we prepare for the Creative Session.  If we have not yet decided on the location, we will finalize that during the preparation time.

Creative Session:

Time for the fun!  During the Creative Session, we will play games and have conversations to get those responses or reactions that make a beautiful portrait!  This Session can be done all in the comfort of your home or we can take it on the road to your favorite park or other location.  I suggest planning a fun outing following the Session, go out for dinner or for ice cream and use the thought of that to help children cooperate.  I suggest more time for really little ones as sometimes it takes a moment for them to come out of their shell.  For seniors or if your goal is to create an album, I suggest multiple locations to fill the pages with variety.

Image Processing:

This part is the hard part, Waiting...

I will review all of the images discard any that just don't make the cut and enhance those beautiful ones that are worth remembering for years to come!  Sometimes moments that you don't think are worth putting on your wall are still worth saving because that is how life is, rainbows after storms/smiles after tears, so don't be surprised if the baby crying or big sister shooting that dirty look to her siblings makes it into the Big Reveal.

Image Selection:

The Big Reveal!  We will sit down in the comfort of your home and watch a slideshow of all the beautiful moments we captured during the Creative Session, we will watch it a few times so that you can enjoy it first and then start thinking about which images you want to turn into artwork!

I use my iPad to share my screen right to your TV or you can gather round the iPad and watch the slideshow.  After watching the show a few times, you will begin to select your favorites and once you have selected your favorites we will decide how they will be used (e.g. wall art, album, cards, gifts...).

Artistic Touches:

I will take your favorites and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that they are the right size for their use and add artistic touches as needed, this is more technical that anything, perhaps I need to expand a background so that your image can fill a space horizontally instead of vertically, I will take care of this after the selection process.

Send To Printer:

After I have finished making the necessary changes to ensure that your artwork can be used as desired, I will send the selections to the professional print lab where they will handle your prints with care to create the finished product!

Post Production:

This is a quick quality control check from me to ensure that nothing has been damaged in shipping and that everything came out perfect and ready for you!

Delivery:

The part that we have all been waiting for!  Finally, your artwork is complete, checked for perfection and ready to be delivered!

I will let you know that your artwork is ready and schedule the earliest available time in both of our schedules to bring the artwork over and put it in your hands, if you invested in wall art, I will have it hung in your desired location at this time as well!  Now all you have to do is sit back and enjoy your beautiful artwork!

Love Notes:
